TÁ CAINDO FULÔ

This book follows Carolina on a heartfelt journey of discovery, memory, and identity. Through the illustrations, I sought to capture the richness of Congado culture, using vibrant colors, emotion, and meaningful details to celebrate Afro-Brazilian heritage in a warm and engaging way for children.

Between songs, family memories, and stories passed down through generations, the narrative highlights the importance of cultural roots and belonging. Each illustration was created with care to convey the strength of this tradition and the connection between past, present, and future.

This project was a special opportunity to illustrate a story deeply connected to ancestry, Brazilian folk culture, and the beauty of family memories.

Book Synopsis

Carolina is on her way to school when she hears a different kind of music, one that speaks of flowers and makes her heart beat faster. Curious, she asks her father what it means, but the answer will only come later, at her grandmother's house. There, among old photos and moving stories, Carolina discovers the roots of Congado, a tradition that pulsates in the veins of her family and in the culture of her people. A journey of discovery, memory, and belonging that celebrates the beauty of Afro-Brazilian heritage.
